The “Other” Room and Notorious JIP

A couple of months ago, I decided to repaint the spare bedroom. We’ve lived here for nearly 18 years now, and this is the only room that hasn’t been retouched. This room has been just about everything, and we’ve affectionately called it the “other” room for years 😜

It has held the stuff we are not sure that we want to get rid of just get, has seen an array of workout equipment (and sweat), holds a library of books, plus has a comfy twin bed for naps (or to retreat from snorers - no names mentioned) 😉

Okay, full disclosure - it has also witnessed the sub-par 2020 yoga class recordings and continues to serve as our cat Juno's pit stop.

But, I wanted to solidify this room’s identity a bit more as I create content for my video library and perhaps host zoom classes soon. I wanted to have a consistent space to share from each week, so bringing a bit more intention with a fresh coat of paint and a little rearranging felt right.

As we lean into this spring season of growth, where can you anchor your sense of self so that your expansion feels steady and supported?

I've always felt that the best growth happens when you have a solid blueprint.

In my yoga practice, that blueprint has been the Baptiste Yoga Journey Into Power (JIP) sequence. Journey Into Power is a foundational sequence that has remained my anchor -the place where I solidify who I am so I can express myself fully.

Where can you reinforce your own 'True North' this week to allow your expansion to come from a place of strength?

P.S. Don’t worry about having a "perfect" practice today. This sequence is designed to meet you exactly where you are. Just unroll your mat, press play, and see what happens when you start from the ground up ;-)
